Official opening of Greater Brighton Metropolitan College’s new Electric Vehicle Centre

Thursday 30 June 2022 – 2pm – 4pm

Shoreham Airport Campus, BN43 5FF – Free parking will be available

We will be officially opening our new Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Centre at our Shoreham Airport Campus, celebrating the success of this cross-Sussex college initiative.  During the afternoon, there will be a short presentation with refreshments, followed by a campus tour and opportunities to see our new equipment in action. There will also be a prize draw for a short chauffeured ‘dream ride’ in a brand new BMW i4.

This is one of five greener initiatives funded by the Department for Education’s Strategic Development Fund and overseen by FE Sussex. Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GB MET) has led the development of five hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) technology training centres of excellence across the region in Shoreham, Chichester, Crawley, Eastbourne and Hastings, with a sixth land-based centre at Plumpton College. Carbon Literacy - Employers' Workshop

Thursday 7 July 2022 – Time TBC

BHASVIC, 205 Dyke Rd, East Sussex, Hove BN3 6EG

As part of our annual Futures Fair, our students have the opportunity to meet over 100 employers and education providers as they consider their pathways beyond their Sixth Form Studies.  From this year we are inviting more partners from the green economy to meet our students and to also take part in a Workshop to discuss Greener Sussex, green skills and opportunities for collaboration.

How can we work together as employers, educators and students for a green economy and the journey towards Net Zero?  What skills do we need our students and employees to have?  What are we doing already that we can share?  Please join this discussion with our Principal, Will Baldwin, and also hear about our collaborative Greener Sussex project, funded by the DfE Skills Accelerator national Trailblazer to improve skills for the Green Economy locally and meet the needs of the Local Skills Improvement Partnership.  If you are interested to hear more details, please contact events@bhasvic.ac.uk
