Electric vehicle technology

GB Met is a medium sized FE college providing opportunity for post-16 students across a wide range of courses from level one to degree.  The college has placed green technology, sustainability and green skills at the heart of its curriculum strategy.

GB MET is committed to providing skills training for adults and young people linked to four of the pledges to ‘Grow Back Greener’ (2020 economic recovery plan for the City region).  These include plumbing, construction and heating to retrofit housing stock, increased water recycling and transfer to hydrogen or heat pump heating systems.  As part of its commitment to this agenda, the College has also signed up to the FE Climate Action Roadmap.

GBMet are proud to have worked with FE Sussex to devise and be responsible for the delivery of this exciting workstream which will create five centres of excellence in which local employees of garages and full time students will learn the technology behind and the techniques required for the servicing of electric vehicles (EV).  State of the art training resources will support actual vehicle technology in hybrid, plug in hybrid and pure electric vehicles.
